Welcome to our culinary mountain hut, where we don't just cook; we also tell stories through our menus.

 

We are Sandra, Dawa, and Sonam – together with our kitchen heroes from last season, Pasang and Lhakpa, we form a creative, heartfelt, and humorous kitchen team. With plenty of passion, warmth, and a generous helping of clarified butter, we combine the very best of Austrian alpine cuisine with authentic delicacies from the heights of the Nepalese Himalayas.

 

At the heart of our cuisine are fresh, high-quality ingredients, carefully selected and sourced from regional suppliers whenever possible. Our cooking philosophy embraces the Slow Food movement: we focus on genuine flavors, regional herbs, and traditional family recipes.

 

 

Sandra, our hut hostess and head chef, discovered her passion for cooking as a child. She learned her craft from her dad and grandma, always curious and eager, peeking into every pot. We particularly cherish authenticity, simplicity, and respect for traditional culinary heritage.

 

From classic hearty beef soup to savory Nepalese momos or a simple, rustic bacon or cheese sandwich – we cook with joy, humor, and a great deal of passion.
